Herd Health Protocols
Robust biological health is the foundation of steady animal weight gain. All syndicated herds adhere to strict veterinary vaccination, parasite control, and biosecurity protocols.
Mandatory Underwriting Checklist
- Comprehensive 5-way respiratory and 7-way clostridial vaccination protocols
- Mandatory electronic RFID ear-tagging registered in state traceability databases
- Strict 14-day biosecurity quarantine upon arrival for incoming stocker lots
- Supervising veterinarian oversight with pre-shipment health certificates
1. Preventive Vaccination Standards
All cattle entering syndicate programs must receive verified vaccinations administered according to Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) guidelines, including:
- •Modified-live viral respiratory coverage against BVD (Types 1 & 2), IBR, BRSV, and PI3.
- •7-way or 8-way bacterin protection against Clostridial diseases (Blackleg, enterotoxemia).
- •Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida coverage for stocker calves.
- •Strategic anthelmintic deworming (pour-on or injectable) upon intake.
2. Electronic RFID Ear Tagging
Every single animal in a Rodeo Capital syndicate receives an official USDA 840 RFID button tag. When animals cross scale chutes, RFID antennas log individual identification, weight, and vaccination history into our tamper-evident cloud records.
3. Biosecurity & Intake Quarantine
New livestock lots are quarantined in isolated holding traps for a minimum of 14 days before co-mingling on pasture. This allows incubation observation, transition feeding, and acclimation to clean water sources.
4. Veterinary Supervision & Health Papers
A designated licensed veterinarian conducts regular herd inspections and issues Interstate Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) before any livestock are transported across state lines.
